Michael Joseph Jackson (Gary, 29 de agosto de 1958 – Los Angeles, 25 de junho de 2009) foi um cantor, compositor, dançarino e filantropo estadunidense. Apelidado de "Rei do Pop", ele é considerado uma das figuras culturais mais significantes do século XX e um dos maiores artistas da história da música. Ao longo de uma carreira de quatro décadas, suas conquistas musicais ao redor do mundo e sua vida pessoal publicizada fizeram dele uma figura global na cultura popular. Por meio da música, dança e moda, ele proliferou a performance visual para cantores de música pop, e popularizou movimentos da dança de rua, incluindo o moonwalk (que ele nomeou), o robô e a inclinada anti-gravidade. Jackson possui uma extensa legião de fãs, que inclui imitadores de todo o mundo. O oitavo filho da família Jackson, Michael fez sua estreia profissional aos seis anos de idade em 1964, com seus irmãos mais velhos, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine e Marlon, como membro do grupo musical The Jackson 5.
